About 64, 138 candidates sat for primary examination between 8th February and February 12th, 2020.
64,138 candidates were registered for the examinations out of which 62,362 sat for the exams whereas 32,549 were males and 20,693 females.
JJC Hai Negil Primary School has emerged as the best school, followed by Kings Academy, both in Central Equatoria State.
In terms of state performance, Unity State was rated the best with 77.92 pass rate, followed by Jonglei state with 75.17.
The best student is Noami Nyiel Deng Dakbai from St. Andrew in Jonglei State with 457, followed by George Soro James Lomundu with 457 Merkolog Primary School in Central Equatoria State.
However, Social Studies have been performed better for the past three years, whereas Islamic Religion Education remained the worse performed subject.
Meanwhile, the best female student is Naomi Nyiel Deng Dakbai with 457 from St. Andrew Primary School in Jonglei, followed by Martha Thomas Moses Abdallah with 456 from JJC Hai Negil Primary School in Central Equatoria State.
Speaking during the release of primary schools examinations results in Juba on Friday, Tako disclosed that private schools performed better than the public schools.
“The private schools took our qualified teachers because we are unable to pay teachers. A teacher can’t come to work with me in the Ministry where he will only get 2,000 SSP meanwhile there is somebody paying 50,000 SSP,” Moyi said.
He revealed that the government is working to address the challenges facing teachers in public schools in a bid to improve the educator sector.
“This is going to be addressed; the leadership of this country is very much concerned about teachers’ salaries and motivations,” he said.
