JUBA – South Sudan’s main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, has rejected to sign a deal this morning on the allocation of local governments and has withdrawn from talks, according to a senior opposition official.

“Yes it is true we have withdrawn from the talk. The government is not negotiating in good faith and now they are taking the most important counties,” the opposition official told Sudans Post from Juba on condition of anonymity.

The official said the government had allocated two counties in Unity state and the Ruweng Administrative Area. Her said the SPLM-IO was told to appoint commissioner for Abiemnom and Panyijiar counties.

“We have rejected this unequal division of cakes and any attempt to derail this process will have negative effect on the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement,” the opposition official further said.
