SSPDF spokesman Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, family survive ‘death’

South Sudan army spokesman Major General Lul Ruai Koang has said that he and his family survived death on Friday, according to a brief statement General Lul posted on social media.

JUBA – The spokesman of South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), General Lul Ruai Koang, has said in a statement that he and some of his close relatives survived death after his car fled a pool that had almost fallen on them.

In the statement posted on his social media Facebook profile, General Lul who was in Juba, said he had narrowly escaped death after a try at his residence was knocked down by winds almost falling on the family.

“… my Cousin’s Wife, her kids and I have just narrowly missed being crushed to death at my residence by a falling tree uprooted by strong winds that swept through Hai Mauna residential some few minutes ago,” he said.

He thanked all relatives who called him following the incident.

“Thanks to all relatives, friends, and colleagues and In laws who have just sent their best wishes after surviving being crushed to death by a falling tree,” he said.

“A special appreciation to those who called immediately after seeing my post and I’m grateful and moved by your passion and concern. God bless you all,” the army commander further added.
