Ikinadismaya rin ng Tanggol Wika PUP ang napipintong pagtatanggal ng mga katutubong wika sa mga paaralan matapos aprubahan ng mga Senador sa pinal na pagbasa ang Senate Bill No. 2457. Kung maisasabatas , matitigil na ang paggamit ng unang wika o mother tongue bilang midyum ng pagtuturo sa mga Kindergarten hanggang ikatlong baitang.

Katatapos lang ng Hunyo at magsimula na ang klase at ang pagharap ng ilang mga kababayan sa maraming mga usapin sa edukasyon. Muli na namang tampok ang usapin ng wika sa pagtuturo sa paaralan, isang usapin na tila kasintagal na ng mahabang kasaysayan ng pagtuturo at kontrobersya sa wika sa kapuluan.

Tanggol Wika and the Manila Science High School filed motions for reconsideration on the SC decision to lift the TRO on the removal of Filipino as part of core subjects.
The group Tanggol Wika is up in arms against the agency’s new memos.
The latest memorandum orders public and private higher education institutions to implement CMO No. 59 series of 1996, requiring nine units of Filipino and six units of Literature, and CMO No. 4 series of 1997 which also requires six units of Filipino and nine units of Humanities.
