The amount of electricity that you need for your home or business.
Solar PV Scheme Application Guide contains the following terms:
SEAI can provide grants to cover costs.
There are 2 payment options: 1) You can pay the full amount upfront or 2) 50% is payable after survey and final balance is payable following installation.
After this, allow between 4 and 6 weeks to pay, plus additional time if you need an inspection.
Our solar installers will produce a report for your home using bespoke software that uses your location to determine the potential output of your system. Determining factors include, location, system size and roof orientation; south-facing is best but east-west orientation also works very well.

The average Solar PV system would have 10 panels with a hot water diverter. Its average cost is EUR7,975 before grant. However, an accurate quote will depend on the site survey. This 10 panel (4.1kWp system) would cost EUR5,575. Solar Share has committed to maintain the pricing of all installs that have deposits paid by 1st May, 2023. You can save approximately EUR 1,190 a year once installed (based on solar electric-ity self consumption of 2,280kWh and exporting 1,220kWh to grid). Your investment will pay off in ap-proximately five years at the current electricity rates of 41c/kWh.
SEAI will receive all documentation electronically your installation.
SEAI can provide grants to help with the costs (subjected to meeting the eligibility requirements).

*A typical solar PV system will save 50% of the electricity consumed by a home, which is 4200kWh/units. Approx. 8 x Solar panels or 3.2kWp can generate. 2700 units/year (2100kWh/units).

The Irish Government sees solar energy as an important long-term way of expanding the mix of sustain-able energy in Ireland. They have therefore put in place a number incentives to assist Irish consumers in switching to solar.
If your needs change, you can easily add additional batteries to your Sonnen battery.
bills.
The Government recently cut the rate of VAT on the supply and installation of solar panels from 13.50% to 0%. We welcome this decision and will pass on the full discount to all our customers as well as retaining all our highly competitive prices for supply and installation. Another step on Ireland’s journey to cleaner, cheaper, renewable energy.
The battery will be installed in either the garage or utility area. This can be decided at the time of site inspection. Installation usually takes less than one day.
The Sonnen battery does require an internet connection for system monitoring. It is essential to have broadband to be able to identify and fix faults remotely online. Regular, free software updates are also required to keep the system up to date. Internet access is included in the warranty.
We will send electronic copies to SEAI.
While solar panels do generate energy during cloudy and rainy days, they may not be enough to meet your home's energy requirements. Of course, any power deficit can be comfortably met with battery-stored energy or from the excess energy sent to the energy grid.
2,400 The amount you get depends on the system size you have installed, measured by your solar panel's peak power output (in kW / kWp). 2,400 is the maximum grant. Larger installations still get this amount. Other things you get installed (such as batteries and immersion diverters) do not effect the amount of the grant.
Without a solar battery connected to your solar PV system, any excess energy generated would be fed back into the National Grid. Adding a solar battery to your system is an excellent and efficient way to preserve and use renewable energy, helping you maximise the energy you generate for your home. 6 Apr 2023
