POLICEMAN A

There is no other way. This must be
done. I am sure I will be able to
help you. You and your son are
going to America; there is nothing
to worry about.

Policeman A then says goodbye to the woman and walks out,
leaving her standing in the middle of the room, dazed and fearful
that she might lose her gold for nothing.

48 INT. THE GIRL'S HOME – NOON

Noon. POLICEMAN B suddenly enters the girl's house when her
parents aren't there.

POLICEMAN B
Hi, kid. Let me ask you a couple of
questions.

Surprised, THE GIRL looks out and recognizes the man. She
moves back a step as if assuming a defensive position and replies

in a harsh voice.

THE GIRL
What do you want?

POLICEMAN B
I just want to ask a few questions,
that's all.

THE GIRL
I don't know anything. My parents
aren't here. Please wait for my
parents to come back.
