THE GIRL
It is you who doesn't understand.
How could you? All you want to do
is to arrest him. You won't
succeed.
Policeman B doesn't dare express his anger. He tries to gently explain
his position, but the girl doesn't want to hear any of it. He feels like he
is losing ground and, dejected, decides to leave the house.
49 EXT. THE GIRL'S HOME - AFTER DARK
Evening. THE GIRL becomes restless as her intuition tells her the
Amerasian will come looking for her. She works. While keeping an ear
open, and, sure enough, she hears someone whistling behind the
house. She quickly goes out.
THE AMERASIAN greets and embraces her effusively. The two hold
on to each other, listen to each other's heartbeats, and then the
Amerasian takes her by the hand and guides her toward the grassy hill
in the distance.
The sky grows darker. The two sit on the grass, facing the mountain
top. No one is around, but the Amerasian still whispers.
THE AMERASIAN
I miss you so much. I wanted to
come back and see you in a few
days, but I couldn't wait that
long. So, I'm here to see you, even
if only for five or ten minutes.
The girl speaks in an even lower voice.
THE GIRL
Please be careful. The policeman
who came to our house earlier
returned.
