July 27, 2021 — South Sudan’s Presidential Envoy to Kenya, Amb. Albino Mathom Ayuel, has met yesterday with President Kiir in his office on 26th of July 2021 to brief him on the progress made on bilateral ties with Kenya.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit was briefed in his office by Albino Mathom Ayuel on his recent visit to Nairobi where he met with Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia, Amb. Albino briefed President Kiir on his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to Mathom, their meeting focused mainly on visa waiver ordered by Kenyan Government for South Sudanese citizens holding valid Passports to enter into Kenya without any restriction.
“The meeting Ambassador Albino Mathom Ayuel said, Kenya has waived visa requirements for South Sudanese citizens entering into Kenya”, statement reads.
“The visa fee has been waivered between South Sudan and Kenya. This is a very good news to the people of South Sudan as people will be moving without paying for visa. Kenyan will also come to South Sudan without paying visa fees ” Amb. Albino Mathom said.
Kenya and South Sudan are neighboring countries and members of East Africa Community. Despite President Kiir blaming President Uhuru on personal issues, Kenya has been a second home to many South Sudanese who resided in Kenya, some as refugees and others as political asylum seekers.
