It is widely believed that Atiku has his eyes on becoming president in 2023.

Atiku Abubakar and Ibrahim Babangida

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to former Head of State Ibrahim Babangida ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Sharing pictures of the visit, Mr Abubakar wrote: “At a courtesy visit to former military President Ibrahim Babangida and Gov Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State in Minna today.”

The former vice president’s visit came weeks after presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu, visited the former head of state seeking his ‘blessings’ for his 2023 ambition.

Although Mr Atiku has not announced that he will be contesting, it is widely believed that he has eyes on the position, given his tightfisted contest in the last election.
