Adele receives Guinness World Record

The album has sold over five million “physical album” since 2021.

English singer and songwriter Adele has received the Guinness world record for the biggest selling album (worldwide) of the year.

The global award comes barely a few months after the singer released her fourth studio album “30”.

According to Guinness World Records, Adele’s “30” has unanimously topped all three album-based awards presented by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). 

In the the Global Album All Format Chart; the Global Album Sales Chart; and the inaugural Global Vinyl Album Chart, Adele’s “30” ranked number one.

The album has sold over five million “physical album” since 2021.

The 12 song album detailed the singer’s journey in motherhood and recent divorce. It was released on November 19, 2021
