The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended one of its chairmen for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari in an audio clip that leaked online.

Suleiman Adamu, Chairman of Yola South in Adamawa, was suspended on Tuesday after an audio recording of him criticising President Buhari surfaced on social media.

His suspension is contained in a statement signed by Mohammed Abdullahi, the party’s spokesman in Adamawa.

“As a party, we came across an audio clip that is widely circulating in the social media which emanates from the Stakeholders meeting of our party in Yola South Local Government Area.

In light of the above, we had an emergency SWC meeting today (10/08/2021) where the audio clip was replayed, digested and deliberated upon,” the statement said.

The party has appointed Adamu Majekano to take over from Mr Adamu pending the outcome of an investigation into the matter.
