President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has appointed Senator Emmanuel Bwacha (APC-Taraba), as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Procurement.

Mr Lawan announced the appointment of the former Deputy Minority Leader, on Wednesday’s plenary.

The senator defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on February 3.

Mr Bwacha had said his decision to leave the PDP was because of a division within the party in his state Taraba that was making it difficult for him to “breathe freely”.
