The Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (BSPHCDA) on Thursday enjoined the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Bauchi to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols.

It enjoined the association to observe the protocols during Christmas and New Year celebrations to contain the spread of the virus.

“We are calling to CAN, Bauchi chapter, to remind the faithful to observe the various safety protocols of COVID-19 during Christmas celebrations,’’ its Executive Secretary, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, said.

He told newsmen in Bauchi that it was wake-up call as the Omicron variant of the virus could be deadlier than the Delta virus.

He said the state was expecting 350,000 doses of COVID 19 vaccines as booster doses.

Mr Mohammed attributed the delay in the arrival of the vaccines since last week to unfavourable weather conditions in the state.
