Court sentences man for damaging window

The convict caused N15,000 damage to the window while attempting to break into the complainant’s house.

A Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun on Thursday, sentenced a 22-year-old man, Sunday Ifaniyi, who damaged a house window, to four days of community service at the Sango-Ota Area Police Command Police.

Delivering judgment, Magistrate A.O.Adeyemi, held that the police proved its case beyond reasonable doubts.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp E. O. A. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offence on Feb.14 at about 12.45 a.m. at Zone 2, Ayayi Egan area, Iju Ota.

He said the convict caused N15,000 damage to the window while attempting to break into the complainant’s house, Odole Oluwajuwon, to steal.

The prosecutor said members of a vigilance group apprehended the convict.

He added that the offence contravened sections 451 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
