Fernandes nets hat-trick as Manchester United crush Leeds in EPL opener

Manchester United on Saturday defeated Leeds United 5-1 at the Old Trafford in their opening game of the new English Premier League season. 

Bruno Fernandes put up a brilliant performance, netting a hat-trick, while Paul Pogba made four assists as the Red Devils demolished Leeds. 

Fernandes gave United the lead 30 minutes into the game. But Luke Ayling equalised for Leeds a few minutes into the second half. 

Manson Greenwood doubled United’s lead in the 52nd minute, while Fernandes scored United’s third and fourth goal in the 54th and 60th minutes. 

Fred netted the fifth goal of United in the 68 minute, putting the Red Devils in absolute control of the game. 

With maximum three points and five goals, Manchester United takes first position on the EPL table, and will be playing Southampton in their next match.
