Ghanaian celebrity Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo has been sentenced to three months in prison for posing naked with her underage son.

Polio has been sentenced to 90 days in prison for “obscene material and domestic violence” after posing naked in a picture with her son on his seventh birthday in 2020.

The actress took to her Instagram to explain saying:

“I’m naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me naked lying somewhere don’t pass by me but rather see me as your mom who brought you to life. Happy birthday to you @sonof_poloo”

Ghanaian Police Criminal Investigations Department started investigating the issue after they were petitioned by The Child Rights International Organisation in June, 2020.

“The Ministry highly condemns this act which is classified as indecent exposure of the child, an act of pornography, degrading and also against the Children’s Act, 1998 (Act 560) and the Criminal and Other Offences Act, (Act 30),”  the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social protection released in a press statement.

The Judge hopes that the sentence will set and example and bring sanity to others on social media.

She was sentenced on April 16, 2021.
