Cross River Governor Ben Ayade has appointed Nigerian music artist Iyanya Mbuk as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment.

Mr Ayade’s spokesman Christian Ita announced that the “Kukere” artist, alongside twenty-six other persons, was appointed on September 1, 2021.

The former TV show star came into the limelight in 2008 and was signed to Made Men Music Group record label before he clashed with the label’s CEO Ubi Franklin.

“I left Made Men Music at the time because there was so much darkness… I needed to move so I let that go,” Iyanya said in an interview with NdaniTV in 2019.

The artist was then signed to Mavins record label afterwards.

Nonetheless, Ubi Franklin has congratulated him on his new appointment.

“Congratulations @iyanya on your Appointment as Senior Special Assistant To The Governor Of Cross-River State @sirbenayade On Tourism and Entertainment,” Mr Franklin said on his Instagram page.
