Gov. Bello, Buni meet, discuss APC national convention

He assured that the March 26 convention date remained sacrosanct and solicited support from all party members for a successful convention.

Governor Mohammed Bello of Niger on Friday visited Governor Mai Mala Buni, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) chairman.

According to a statement by Mr Buni’s spokesman Mamman Mohammed in Damaturu, Mr Bello led other CECPC members to welcome the CECPC chair from his medical trip in the United Arab Emirates.

Mr Bello, who was the acting CECPC chairman during Buni’s absence, said the committee visited the latter to brief him on affairs of the party while he (Mr Buni) was away.

He said based on the transmission of power to him by Mr Buni, the committee commenced the process of the March 26 convention in earnest.

Responding, Mr Buni commended the committee members for the support and cooperation extended to Mr Bello while he (Mr Buni) was away.

He assured that the March 26 convention date remained sacrosanct and solicited support from all party members for a successful convention.

Mr Buni commended committee members for their commitment to the ideals of the party and spirit of teamwork for the success of the party come 2023 general elections.
