Hisbah nabs 44 women for committing immorality

Jigawa Hisbah Board says it has arrested 61 persons, including 44 women for immorality.

The Jigawa Hisbah Board says it has arrested 61 persons, including 44 women in the Taura local government area for immorality.

Ibrahim Dahiru, Hisbah commandant disclosed this in Dutse on Tuesday.

He noted that the suspects were arrested on Monday in the popular ‘Gujungu’ town by Hisbah operatives in collaboration with the police.

”The 44 women are suspected commercial sex workers. The 17 men, were apprehended when the operatives raided the area at about 6:00 a.m. The suspects have already been charged before a magistrates’ court in Ringim,” said the Hisbah commandant.

Mr Dahiru urged Jigawa residents particularly the youths to desist from engaging in vices and immorality capable of destroying their future or promoting social decadence.

He further commended the residents for supporting and cooperating with the board to enable it carry out its duties effectively.

According to him, the Hisbah will continue to fight against immorality in all parts of Jigawa.
