Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice and assisted for another goal to help Leicester City to a 3-1 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup quarterfinal fixture on Sunday.

The goals makes it Ihenacho’s 9th goal in his last nine starts for the Foxes and also his 11th goal in his 11FA cup appearances to continue his red hot form.

Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood equalized for the Red Devils just before the end of halftime after Iheanacho’s goal in the 24th minute, latching onto a bad pass from Brazilian midfielder, Fred.

Iheanacho combined with a neat pass with Youri Tilemans for Leicester’s second.

Ihenacho once again showed his renewed confidence by scoring his second goal in the 79th minute with a lovely header after a connecting with a Tielemans freekick.

Manchester United’s midfield duo, Fred and Nemanja Matic both put up an abysmal display which cost their team as they offered no compact midfield.

Frenchman Anthony Martial also disappointed with a number of missed chances at scoring to put the Red Devils back in the game.

Leicester City have now defeated Manchester United for the first time since the 5-3 defeat back in 2014 in the FA Cup competition.

Leicester will now play Southampton in the Semifinal of the 2021 Emirates FA cup while Chelsea will face Manchester City in the second semifinal fixture.

Manchester United now have just the Europa League and a top four finish in the Premier League as their paramount concern in the ongoing season.

Nigerians will be hoping the former FIFA U-20 highest goalscorer replicates his fine form for the Super Eagles as they lock horns with Lesotho and Benin Republic in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
