Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has told Abia residents to stop complaining about the uncompleted Aba-Osisioma flyover.
The Abia governor slammed the people complaining as being too poor to own an automobile, insisting residents walking with their legs have “no business with the flyover.”
“Most of the people demanding updates on the flyover don’t have vehicles, they are moving about with legs,” said the Abia governor. “What business does those walking have with the flyover? They should be happy that we are almost done with the flyover. We are currently working on the stone base of the flyover.”
The construction of Aba-Osisioma flyover began in 2017, the state government assigned the project to a Chinese company. The bridge is still under construction.
Mr Ikpeazu, who spoke in an interview with Magic FM radio in Aba, said the residents demanding that he complete the bridge did not own a car.
He said four years ago when he decided to construct the bridge the residents criticised the project they referred to project as “centre table.”
The governor explained that the flyover was not anyone’s concern and people should stop worrying about its completion.
“I started the flyover and I have been funding it with the little money we have and people should not bother about the flyover,” Mr Ikpeazu said.
