Kano Pillars, Safety Babes win 2021 handball premier league

A total of 21 teams, 10 female and 11 male, participated in the league which ran from October 23 to November 3.

Kano Pillars and Safety Babes

Kano Pillars and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) female team, Safety Babes, won the male and female categories of the 2021 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League.

Kano Pillars took the men’s title with 29 points from 11 games played, winning nine matches and losing two games.

Also first on the female category with 25 points, the FRSC’s Safety Babes played nine matches, won eight and lost one.

Defending female champion, Adorable Angles, finished second with 23 points, ahead of Imo Grasshoppers in third place, which also had 23 points.

In the male category, Defending champion, Safety Shooters, finished second on the table with 29 points, ahead of Niger United which finished third with 27 points.

Title winners went home with a prize of N1,2500,000, the decoy received N1 million each while the third-placed teams received N750,000.
