A man has accused the Chief Judge of Ondo state, Olarenwaju Akeredolu, of arresting and illegally detaining him for forcefully entering his father’s house.

Olupelumi Fagboyegun, who claims to be siblings with the chief judge posted a video on the internet on Monday, accusing Justice Akeredolu for manipulating the judicial system to deny him justice.

In the video making rounds on social media, Mr. Fagboyegun said the chief judge facilitated his arrest three years ago when he returned from overseas for holidays in their father’s house.

“I have been living abroad for over 30 years. I came on holiday to Nigeria to my father’s house, because I share the same father with the Chief Judge of Ondo State. I was arrested at my father’s place. I was locked up; I was charged with forceful entry into my father’s house,” he said in the video.

Mr. Fagboyegun said he has since remanded and his case is still pending in court, with the authorities amending charges and changing trial judges at every turn.

“Even if I was convicted of this crime. It only carries one-year prison penalty. But I have been on remand, open remand for the past three years. This case has been going on for three years because the Chief Judge of Ondo State is using her power to influence the judicial system. I have been unable to get justice,” he claimed.

“They have changed judges five times. They have re-arraigned me five times. They have changed their charges five times. And up till today that I am talking to you- the 15th of February 2021. This case is still pending. Please come and rescue me. Come and rescue me help me. I want to go back to my children.”

The Ondo government has, however, called for an investigation, sequel to the allegation of Mr. Fagboyegun, a statement posted by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu said on twitter.

“I have instructed my AG to investigate the allegation. We will ensure the investigation is thorough, fair and transparent” @RotimiAkeredolu tweeted.
