NUGA 2022: UNILAG wins gold medal in men, women 100m hurdles

While Stella Ayanleke won gold in the 100m women hurdles final, Oyeniyi Abejoye also won gold in the men category.

Stella Ayanleke of the University of Lagos on Monday won gold in the 100m women hurdles final at the Nigerian University Games Association in Lagos.

Ayanleke, who is a 400 level student of Human Kinetics at UNILAG, said that she was glad to fly high her school flag.

She noted that this was not her first time representing her school.

“I am glad I won this race, though it was not easy but I did my best. This is a result of hard work and I won’t relent now.

“I aspire to take this to a whole new level if I could put in more efforts,” she said.

Meanwhile, Akpan Abasiono of University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) won the Silver.

Also, Precious Nzeakor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) won bronze medal.

In the men category, UNILAG’s Oyeniyi Abejoye also won gold, while Taiwo Asere of University of Illorin (UNILORIN) and Kóredé Adedigba also from UNILORIN won Silver and Bronze, respectfully.
