Okowa begs pastors to pray for change in Nigeria
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has called on Nigeria’s religious leaders to organise special prayers for God to intervene in the nation’s affairs.
The governor, who admitted that Nigeria faces many problems, made the call on Tuesday, while playing host to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN)’s president, Wale Oke, at the Government House, Asaba.
“I also want to urge religious leaders in the country to continuously pray for the nation for God to positively turn things around for the country,” Mr Okowa said.
According to him, the peace that Nigeria seeks must come from God to achieve sustainable socio-economic growth and development.
The governor added that the prayers of the saints had sustained peace and unity in Nigeria.
He revealed that it was tough for his administration to meet up with the challenges of governance in the first two years due to the lack of funds.
