One killed, 10 injured in Kwara auto crash

The injured victims are being treated at Bertholem Clinic, Kanbi, and the corpse deposited at the UITH.

The Kwara Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed one person dead and 10 others injured in a crash which occured on Saturday night.

Jonathan Owoade, the Kwara Sector Commander of the FRSC, said the crash which occurred at the Lumoh village on Olooru-Shao road involved two speeding vehicles.

“There was a fatal crash this evening, involving two vehicles, a commercial Volkswagen Sharon Bus with registration number KEY 875 ZF and a commercial DAF trailer with registration number T-8326 LA.

“11 people were involved; 10 were injured and sadly one person lost his life.

“The victims have been taken to Bertholem Clinic, Kanbi, while the corpse have been taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

“The rescue team is working to control traffic at the scene while effort is being made to remove obstructions on the road,” Mr Owoade said.

Families of the victims were asked to visit the health facilities for their loved ones.
