On Tuesday, a Kaduna pastor, Yohana Buru, led 50 imams to preach to traders in Kaduna against increasing prices of foodstuffs and fruits as Ramadan approaches.

Mr Buru said the campaign would assist in making some of the marketers reduce the price of the commodities, and it will enable fasting Muslims to buy them at affordable prices.

According to the pastor, he kicks off the campaign every year, noting that preaching to the traders is necessary amid rising poverty and the high cost of living in Nigeria.

Mr Buru explained this was his 10th time visiting many markets in Kaduna ahead of Ramadan to stress the need to cut down prices of goods to enable Muslims access to them at affordable prices.
