Russian Invasion: EU nations to coordinate arms shipment to Ukraine

It added that it would fund weapons for Ukraine to help it defend itself against Russia’s invasion.

• February 28, 2022

European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Monday said defence ministers would meet virtually to coordinate weapons assistance for Ukraine.

Mr Borrell said this came after the bloc decided to fund weapons and send them to Kyiv jointly for the first time.

“We will discuss further urgent needs and coordinate our assistance, with help of the clearinghouse managed by the EU military staff,” he tweeted.

On Sunday, the EU announced it would tighten sanctions on Russia ban the Russian state-owned television network Russia Today and news agency Sputnik.

It added that it would fund weapons for Ukraine to help it defend itself against Russia’s invasion.
