Sunny, hazy weather expected from Monday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency of Nigeria (NiMet) has predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions from Monday to Wednesday.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency of Nigeria (NiMet) has predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions from Monday to Wednesday.

NiMet`s weather outlook, released on Sunday, in Abuja, predicted sunny and hazy skies over the Northern region during the forecast period on Monday.

It further predicted sunny skies with few patches of clouds to prevail over the North central states during the forecast period.

“Cloudy skies, with intervals of sunshine, should prevail over the South with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Akwa Ibom during the morning hours.

“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Imo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Edo, Abia, Anambra, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Lagos, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states,” the agency said.

According to NiMet, sunny and hazy skies are anticipated over the Northern region during the forecast period on Tuesday.

It forecast sunny skies with few patches of cloud to prevail over the North central states during the forecast period, with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Kogi and Nasarawa during afternoon and evening hours.

The agency anticipated the inland and the coastal cities of the South to be under cloudy skies with sunshine intervals and with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Akwa Ibom state during the morning hours.

NiMet envisaged isolated thunderstorms over parts of Edo, Ondo, Osun, Ogun, Imo, Delta Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Lagos and Cross River states as the day progressed.

“For Wednesday, sunny and hazy skies are anticipated over the Northern region during the forecast period. Sunny skies with patches of cloud should prevail over the North central region throughout the period of forecast.

“The inland and the coastal cities of the South should be under cloudy skies with sunshine intervals during the morning hours, while there are chances of few isolated thunderstorms over the region,” it said.
