Sirajuddin Haqqani, the interior minister in the Taliban-led Afghanistan government, has praised suicide bombers for killing thousands of U.S. and allied troops in the war against the former government and its Western allies.

Voice of America reports that Mr Haqqani who currently has a $10 million U.S. bounty on his head as a global terrorist, sang praises of the suicide bombers while hosting family members of the attackers at a hotel in the Afghan capital on Monday.

Describing the dead suicide bombers as ‘heroes of Islam and the country’, the wanted Taliban leader rewarded their relatives with $125 and plots of land.

“In his speech, the minister praised the Jihad and sacrifices of the martyrs and Mujahidin and called them heroes of Islam and the country,” Interior Ministry spokesman Qari Saeed Khosty in a tweet said.

The suicide bombers were responsible for the killings of thousands of U.S. and allied troops in the recent Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

Taliban fighters ousted ex-Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani after taking over the city of Kabul, Peoples Gazette reported.

After taking over power, the Taliban while declaring amnesty across the country in August promised to respect the human rights of Afghan citizens, especially women and girls.

However, the extremist group refused to keep its promises constantly violating the fundamental rights of Afghans.
