A tanker has exploded on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, injuring three people.

The truck conveying gas exploded on Sunday night.

The three persons injured in the explosion have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Apart from the tanker, a vehicle affected by the fire was burnt to ashes.

‘‘FRSC Ogun sector command wishes to inform the motoring public on the traffic situation along Lagos-Ibadan expressway on burning tanker laden with gas that resulted in the fire incident around Danco,” said the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) sector commander in Ogun, Ahmed Umar, said. “FRSC rescue team and fire service are fully on the ground managing the situation. Traffic has been diverted to avoid a secondary crash. Motorists are advised to remain calm, disciplined, and cooperate with traffic managers.”

The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE)’s spokesman Babatunde Akinbiyi said he had not been briefed on the incident.

A spokesman for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Nosa Okubor, said he would get back to Peoples Gazette.
