West Ham puncture Liverpool’s unbeaten run in five-goal thriller

Sunday’s win which moves West Ham above Liverpool on the EPL log is David Moyes’ first win against Liverpool since 2010.

West Ham United has ended Liverpool’s run of 25 games without defeat in a Sunday night five-goal thriller.

The Hammers beat Liverpool 3-2 at the London Stadium, displacing Liverpool from third position on the English Premier League table.

Though Liverpool dominated the match in terms of possession, 70 per cent, West Ham carefully contained Liverpool’s attack while taking advantage of their few chances in the game.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker conceded an own goal, giving the home side an early lead barely four years minutes into the game.

Alexander Arnold levelled up for Liverpool few minutes (41) to half time break.

Pablo Fornal made it two for West Ham, scoring in the 67th minutes, while former Chelsea star Kurt Zouma added the third for the Hammers with a header in the 74th minute.

Divock Origi netted another goal for Liverpool in the 83rd minute but West Ham maintained a solid defence to grab all three points on their home turf.

Sunday’s win which moves West Ham above Liverpool on the EPL log is David Moyes’ first win against Liverpool since 2010.

So far this season, West Ham have garnered 23 points in 11 games, winning 7, drawing 2 and losing one, while Liverpool have 22 points in 11 games. Liverpool has so far won 6 games, drawn 4 and lost one.
