The wife of Borno Governor, Falmata Umara-Zulum, on Friday donated food items to Christian widows and vulnerable persons in Maiduguri.

Distributing the items, Mrs Zulum said the gesture was to identify with the less privileged and to enable them celebrate the Christmas season with ease.

Mrs Zulum, who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Zuwaira Gambo, said the gifts were to promote a sense of belonging, passion, love and unity to fellow Christians as they prepare to mark the Christmas day celebration.

She said that each of the beneficiaries were given a 25-kg bag of rice, one gallon of cooking oil as well as undisclosed amount of cash.
