Vice-president Hussein Abdelbaggi recovers, to return to Juba – official

JUBA – South Sudan Vice-President Hussein Abdelbaggi who was flown to the Kenyan capital Nairobi last week over high-blood pressure and an alleged heart complications has recovered and is due in the capital Juba within this week, according to a senior member of South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA).

Hussein two weeks ago was flown to Nairobi after reportedly complaining from heart issues as well as deterioration of high-blood pressure. He has been in Nairobi under treatment since then without returning to the country.

Speaking to Sudans Post this evening, Steven Lual, the deputy spokesman of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance said Abdelbaggi has recovered and is due in the capital Juba this week downplaying the extend of his sickness sickness.

“Yes the vice-president has recovered. He will return to the country this week. Actually he was not that much sick as reported by some section of the media. He was largely going for medical check-up and now he has completed all those and he will return to the country,” Lual said.

Abdelbaggi is the chairperson of the National Coronavirus Task-force. He was in May infected by teh deadly coronavirus but he was declared COVID-19-free two weeks later after doctors confirmed that the deadly virus was no more.
