MANILA — Thousands gathered at Luneta earlier today, Sept. 21, to denounce corruption and demand accountability over flood control projects mired in controversy. Protesters brought placards carrying calls against corrupt government officials, contractors, nepo babies, political dynasties, and the rotten political system. The protest ended in Mendiola, where Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) Secretary General Mong Palatino reminded the people that this is not the end of the fight against corruption. Anakbayan National Chairperson Mhing Gomez meanwhile paid tribute to the martyrs and activists who fought Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s Martial Law.
