Carlos Zarate described the strike as a reckless act that “undermines diplomatic solutions and violates international law.” He accused the US of employing counterterrorism rhetoric to justify wars while ignoring deeper sources of instability such as Israel’s occupation of Palestine.
Sailing toward Gaza was a form of resistance to break the siege and provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
“Since breaking the ceasefire, the Zionist-Israel and its number one funder has shown no mercy to our Palestinian brothers and sisters. They play deaf while the list of martyrs and victims grows longer, and those still alive have nowhere safe to go,” said Amirah Lidasan, secretary-general of MCPA.

“In line with the tactics that the Israeli authorities have applied since October 2023, they have once again chosen to collectively punish the people of Gaza – with the explicit approval of their closest ally, the United States – striking with an intensity not seen since the early stages of the war."
In the wake of the US elections and the outsized support of Israeli political capital by a far-right government in Washington, the Palestinians also expressed worry about their legal status in the Philippines, a close US and Israeli ally. “We hope that our government will put Mary Jane in a safe place, and that she will be granted clemency by our government,” said Celia Veloso, Mary Jane’s mother, during the program commemorating the birth of Andres Bonifacio last November 30 (Saturday).
Veloso’s case was brought to international attention after she was sentenced to die in Indonesia. Prior to this, her family spent more than five years seeking government assistance to prove that she was a victim of human trafficking.

During the protest, Filipino activists decried that the Philippines is next only to India in terms of purchases of armaments from Israel amounting to billions. Last year alone, a $114 million contract between the Philippines and the Israeli government was forged for refurbishing two planes for intelligence gathering. Such contracts, the group said, help fund Israel’s genocidal wars against the Palestinian people.
