“In fact, other criminal cases avr been previously filed against Alaiza and her family before and for being utterly false, none of which have resulted in any indictment,” it said.
“These threats are not just about Paolo Tarra,” Defend Cavite stated. “They reflect a broader strategy to silence dissent and stifle any voices that challenge the status quo. This is a tactic of fear and repression that targets anyone who dares to stand up for human rights and social justice.”
The NTC memorandum blocking the 27 websites not only violates the right to publish and the right to free expression of the media outfits and organizations but also the right of their readers and subscribers to access alternative information and analyses, including those not found in other websites.
