Rustic Western Cowhide Rugs
In this custom showplace, kitchen appliances disappear into the art wall, which adds vibrant color and energy to the non-traditional kitchen. The wall is clad in reclaimed barn wood, and artist Rob Stenberg painted the design on the panels. Touch-latch cabinetry keeps the wall looking more like an art installation than kitchen cabinetry. A custom hemlock block island looks time worn and was fabricated by the homeowner.

It's breathtakingly beautiful in the American West, whether it's in Utah's deserts or Wyoming’s Rocky Mountains. The Shaw Ranch is located within the Wind River Range. Large windows strategically placed in order to frame the views bring picture-perfect scenes into every room. If views aren’t your focal point, or if you don’t have them, large-scale photography can bring the outside in. For inspiration, look to Ansel Adams's work, which is some of the most famous imagery from the American West. A black-and-white photograph of wild horses is displayed on the fireplace mantel in the Shaw Ranch study. A candlestick made from deer antler, and a chair handmade by a local craftsman are just a few of the elements that celebrate Western riches.
Western Wool Rugs
Southwestern-style requires warm earth tones. You can see this master suite in its authentic Southwestern style, with the wall art and carvings. Buffalo check was originally created in the East. However, it is named after a real buffalo that once roamed West. A black-and-white buffalo-check duvet and a leather hat give this bedroom a traditional feel. The hanging hammock chair is a nod to California boho (another Western style). The lodge-style bedroom is dominated by large, heavy antlers. This bedroom features southwest-inspired bedding and artwork.
