Rugs for Western Decor
Often, one textile is the only element needed to give a space of Wild West touch. Owner and designer Sarah Wittenbraker kept her kitchen clean, white and fairly minimalistic — except for that vibrant, graphic rug. No drywall was used in the renovation of this kitchen and living area. Instead, the finished birch ceilings and graphic walls create organic warmth against the metal beams and concrete floor. This space represents a modern, pared-back take on Southwestern style. Vigas are wood ceiling beams in traditional adobe architecture — iconic for the Southwest and particularly New Mexico — and they're the hallmark of this sophisticated dining space. Additionally, a large wood table, ten slipper chairs and a buffet welcome guests.
