THE MAN
Do you remember the grotto over
there? It was where we had our
first wedding night five years ago.
We truly belonged to each other and
were forever linked from that
moment. That small, dark grotto was
our paradise and our private holy
land. During my time in America, I
always vividly remembered that
grotto and the time we spent
together there. It was as if I were
there and alive. Do you want to go
visit the grotto again with me,
tomorrow? Do you agree?
The boy tugs at his father's hand.
THE BOY
I want to go there tomorrow, too.
Please let me come with you.
The mother pinches her son's cheek.
THE
Of course. Your life on this earth
began there. Haven't I told you so
many times before?
The boy claps his hands.
THE BOY
Yes, you told me. I was born there.
The young man pulls the woman closer to him. He speaks with
emotion.
