Rt. Hon. Speaker Nunu Kumba briefs President Kiir on number of amendments made to the constitution.

Juba, South Sudan

May 10, 2022 — South Sudan’s Speaker of the National Parliament Jemma Nunu Kumba has briefed President  Salva Kiir on Friday about the progress that have been made on bills tabled at Reconstituted Transitional National Legislative Assembly (R-TNLA).

“.. His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit was briefed in his office today( Friday 6th, May 2022), by Right Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, the Speaker of Transitional National Legislative Assembly” Presidential Press statement says.

Nunu updated the President on how far they have gone at Parliament with drafted bills related to the implementation of Revitalized Peace Agreement.

“.. The Speaker briefed His Excellency the President on the progress of the bills that have been tabled at the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) for deliberations”,the statement stressed.

Nunu in her remarks to the media assured the president that all amendments have been completed.

“. Speaking to the media after the meeting Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba said, all the amendments of the constitution in relation to the Revitalised Peace Agreement have been completed”, the statement further emphasized.

She added that the Bills on Security, National Constitution Making process and Political Party are being discussed by the parliament and hopefully they will be finalized next week to facilitate the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
