September 21,2021—Two South Sudanese kids, who went missing after attending a party organized in their area in Khartoum last month, were discovered in a car after three days.
According to Police report, the two children were raped and died later of what police reports to be suffocation.
The police authorities said they have arrested at least five of the suspects believed to be in connection with infants’ death.
The two boys were identified as 4 years old Changkuoth and 7 years old Turkey, and they had been living together with their parents in Kalakla suburb in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
According to the information received by Nyamilepedia, John Oyual, the father of the victims said the two boys escorted their mother to a function in the neighborhood but unexpectedly disappeared into the neighborhood.
“The mother of my children was invited for a function by neighbors and she informed me and went with the children. This was on 19 August at about 4 pm. When she came back alone, I asked her where the children were,” John quoted by Radio Tamazuj to have explained.
According to his wife, the children left her at the function with hopes that they would reach home; however, they never arrived home.
He said they went and looked for them at the place of the function but they were not there so he went and reported it to the police station the same evening that his children were missing.
John said that on Saturday 21 August, he also went and opened a formal missing person’s case at Kalakla Lafa police station and checked other police stations but couldn’t get his sons.
“On Monday 23 August, a woman, the neighbor, came wailing to our home and said that two children have been found dead in a vehicle and that we should go and see if they were ours. She even knows my children. When we got there, we found that indeed they were my children. The older one was put on top of his younger sibling. The police officers from the Andlos police station took their dead bodies for investigations,” John said.
John also revealed that, Khartoum Police told the family that the postmortem revealed that the two children “died out of rape and lack of oxygen”, adding that after a while the police published a statement on media in which they said they have arrested five people suspected to be the perpetrators.
