2023: Gov. Sule hands down April 8 deadline for political appointees to resign

The directive is sequel to the election guidelines released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration has directed all Nasarawa political appointees seeking an elective position to resign on or before April 8.

The directive is contained in a statement signed by Muhammad Ubandoma, the Secretary to the State Government, on Wednesday in Lafia.

According to the statement, the directive is a sequel to the election guidelines released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“In line with section 84 (12) of the electoral act, political and public office holders desirous of participating in the political process either as contestants or delegates should resign on or before Friday,” he added.
