The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has urged the 2023 pilgrims from the state to offer special prayers for the nation’s peace, unity and prosperity.

This is contained in a goodwill message issued by the emir’s spokesman, Malam Abdulazeez Arowona, in Ilorin on Monday.

Mr Sulu-Gambari enjoined them to see the opportunity of their visit to the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a great opportunity to move closer to Allah.

The emir, who is also the chairman, Kwara Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba, thanked Almighty Allah for his numerous blessings on the people of Ilorin Emirate, the people of Kwara and Nigerians at large.

He stressed that the pilgrims were expected to pray for global peace and harmony while in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“I use this moment to thank Almighty Allah and urge our pilgrims to pray for peace and unity of Nigeria, most importantly, for the newly inaugurated leaders at the federal and state levels.

“I also enjoin pilgrims from Ilorin Emirate and beyond to be good ambassadors of our dear country, by conducting themselves in the most peaceful manner throughout their stay.”

The emir thanked sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, government and people of the state for their continuous prayers and support.

He prayed Almighty Allah to grant all the pilgrims successful Hajj rites and journey mercies.
