The Adamawa government says it has allocated N25.5 billion or 22.25 per cent of its 2024 budget estimates to the Ministry of Works and Energy Development to develop infrastructure.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the state disclosed this during the presentation of the appropriation estimates before the state House of Assembly in Yola on Friday.

He explained that the ongoing construction of the Mubi Road fly-over would ease traffic congestion and beautify the state capital when completed.

“Our government has started the construction of a super highway with drains, which starts from Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) through Malkohi up to AA Lawal Junction.

“This will also decongest our roads, thereby reducing the rate of accidents to the barest minimum.

“We are committed to finishing these projects and awarding new ones within the year,” he said.

The government recently procured dozens of luxury buses to ease transportation hardships being faced by residents.

“We are determined to put smiles on the faces of commuters by procuring more buses for our citizens and public schools,” he said.
