3SC edge Kun Khalifat 2-1 for first NPFL victory

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Sunday recorded their first victory of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
3SC returned to form after a 0-1 defeat to Bayelsa United and a 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance.
The Oluyole Warriors also drew 1-1 in the fiercely contested South-West derby with Ikorodu City before suffering another away loss to Rivers United in Port Harcourt.
On Matchday Five at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan, 3SC finally secured maximum points with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Kun Khalifat FC.
Captain Ghali Falke opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a composed volley, sparking jubilation among the home fans.
Early in the second half, Sodiq Ibrahim calmly netted in the 47th minute, doubling the lead and marking his welcome return to the scoresheet.
Head Coach Nurudeen Aweroro refreshed his squad in the 72nd minute, bringing on Monsoor Aliyu, Abiodun Adegoke and Kabir Tijani, later replacing Sodiq Ibrahim with Wasiu Ganiyu.
Kun Khalifat, however, struck back in the 76th minute, reducing the deficit and ensuring a tense finale.
Next, Shooting Stars will travel to face Warri Wolves in Matchday Six, aiming to build on this crucial win.
