Abia expresses readiness to work with traditional rulers

The Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, Caleb Ajagba, has said the government is ready to work with traditional rulers to create wealth and uplift lives.
Mr Ajagba disclosed this on Friday when he hosted members of Aba North Traditional Rulers Council at the Government House, Umuahia.
He emphasised the role of traditional institution in maintaining law and order and appreciated the traditional rulers in Aba North for living up to expectations.
Mr Ajagba told the visitors to take the message of the inclusiveness of the Alex Otti administration to other traditional rulers and constituents.
He stated, “Please take this message to the other traditional rulers that this administration is ready to work with you. It is ready to tap from your huge reservoir of knowledge in order to ensure the past mistakes were never repeated by those that are present today. I believe that this traditional role has been well played, and from the quality of our traditional rulers that are present here today, I say categorically that this administration is very proud of you.’’
He said that the government would continue to interface with the Mayor of Aba North to ensure that everyone in the local government area was integrated in the scheme of progress.
Mr Ajagba, who said that most of the roads constructed by Mr Otti in Aba area were done in Aba North LGA, appreciated them for recognising numerous achievements of Mr Otti’s administration.
He thanked them for finding time to interface with him and stressed the need for the sustenance of synergy between government and traditional rulers in Abia.
Mr Ajagba also assured the traditional rulers that the issues raised would be tackled.
He added, “We want to assure you that going forward, some of the identified issues you have raised will be corrected. There is no need to begin to antagonise the government in power and try to find fault with whatever thing that is being done. That is why I want to thank you for appreciating the good things that this administration, under Governor Alex Otti has been doing.’’
The leader of the delegation and traditional ruler of Umuola Egbelu Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness, Eze Love Wogu, thanked the governor for his developmental strides in their LGA.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Aba North Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Eze Chima Njoku, appreciated the governor for his giant strides across the state, especially in Aba North LGA.
He expressed the willingness and desire to fully partake in the Otti’s government efforts to improve the welfare and wellbeing of the people in the area.
