Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, has issued a stern warning to students against antisocial vices during its 17th matriculation ceremony.

Vice-Chancellor Smaranda Olarinde gave the warning on Wednesday as 2,764 fresh students were admitted into various academic programmes.

The matriculants joined colleges of engineering, law, medicine and health sciences, pharmacy, sciences, and social and management sciences.

Ms Olarinde said, “2,096 were admitted into regular programmes, 207 into Open and Distance Learning, while 461 enrolled in part-time programmes.”

She warned that university freedom “must be exercised with discipline”, urging students to avoid antisocial behaviour capable of derailing academic and personal goals.

The vice-chancellor said ABUAD was founded on labour, service and integrity, adding that the institution produced 14,825 graduates between 2013 and 2025.
