The governing council of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has approved the appointment of Aisha Idris as the acting registrar with immediate effect.

A statement by the institution’s spokesman, Abdulkadir Shehu, on Saturday in Bauchi said the appointment followed the exit of the substantive registrar, Ahmad Garba.

Before her appointment, Ms Idris was the deputy registrar, Senior Staff Establishment and Alumni Relations division of the university.

She joined the university as a senior assistant registrar in 1997 and was promoted to deputy registrar in 2005.

Ms Idris, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies and Political Science.

She started her career with the Bauchi State Government as an information officer in 1991.
