AC Milan on Sunday defeated Sassuolo 3-0 to win their first Serie A title in 11 years.

AC Milan returned as champions of the Italian side more than a decade after they won the title in 2010-2011.

With 86 points in 38 games, AC Milan edged rival Inter Milan to the title with just two points.

Olivier Giroud scored twice, in the 17th and 32nd minutes, giving Milan a good lead into the first half break.

Frank Kessie made it three for Milan, scoring minutes to the first half break as grabbed all three points.

Before Sunday’s victory, Massimiliano Allegri led the club to the trophy in the 2010-11 campaign.

Since then, however, the Italian league has been dominated by Juventus with AC Milan struggling to find their way to the top.
